Despite the unknowns, the opposition to Amendment 69, known as ColoradoCare, is apparent. Only 27 percent would vote yes in a hypothetical contest, compared with 65 percent who would vote no. An additional 8 percent are undecided, the poll showed.
They would have to double support by November to make this concerning.

Insurance rates for 2017 are rumored to be bad (really bad) and more insurers are abandoning the non-marketplace "Marketplace." If these changes are announced/understood by Nov it could change things but then I go back to wondering if folks will see 69 as a continuation of the failure or a solution.

Please have a heart for your old state and in the future, steer them away from Colorado.
Tell them it is all a big trap, that the Feds set up Colorado to attract pot smokers from across the country in order to secretly arrest them and put them on ships to Liberia.
"Montana is where you want to be. They don't advertise it, but the pot is free in Montana..." Then, hope they freeze to death.

I'm not a big fan of cold horrible winters, but I am hoping for one this year. Crossing my fingers some of these recent urban travelers can't hack it and move elsewhere.
Great original post by BG. really puts it all in perspective. I would love to see some other states with better climates legalize recreational MJ. I think a lot of the leeches would move out of here.

Yep...we're already being screwed here... I just hope the inflow of this sort of person is tempered after November when other states legalize it as well...
I feel sorry for the good hard-working people of California, but I hope pot legalization passes there.

Yup...Colorado is THE spot now. Its trendy, urban traveler friendly, legal weed, craft beer, cool mountains and stuff to go ruin, etc.
This is true, but I doubt that without some education, skills, or even a modicum of psychological inclination toward work, they wont be in much of a position to "enjoy" much of any of that. If they are nomadic, I reckon they wont stay long. It's easier to spend a lot of time and energy trying to avoid work than setting out on a career track.
My concern is that we have imported enough of these morons that they will actually get Amendment 69 passed, and we will all be saddled with 10% tax on top of everything else. I have met a few people who think it's a good idea because the companies that are employers will be paying 6.667% and the employee will only pay 3.33%. When I explained that this would just drive companies out of CO, they thought I was kidding or lying to them.
If 69 passes we will be screwed. I think some companies are already waiting to see what shakes out in November before they bid on projects and start bringing on new people.

    Yup...

UnitedHealthcare and Humana Insurance will no longer offer individual plans next year, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Colorado is ending its preferred-provider organization (PPO) individual plans and Rocky Mountain Health Plans stopped selling individual policies everywhere but Mesa County. Those combined moves will require 92,000 Coloradans to shop for new insurance next year.
    Here's the article about it:

Seems like every night the talking heads are presenting something new for the "homeless community" here in the 'springs. More free beds, more free food, more free help. At the same time people that they interview that are involved in pushing this free stuff keep complaining about how they can't keep up with demand.

Cause and effect seems pretty clear to me...
