I'll say it again, perhaps more clearly. I'm voting AGAINST HRC by voting for Trump. A vote for GJ is not a vote against HRC.
The republican party absolutely puts up candidates. And then the people vote on who the presidential candidate will be. Hell, people who aren't even registered as Republicans get to vote on it'll be.

I'll be more clear too, having to vote for one crap candidate to keep another crap candidate out of office is uninspiring. It will get the people who really hate the other person out to vote, but it doesn't do anything to drive an inactive base to the voting booths, and that's what we needed to defeat an extremely well organized Democrat organization the past few elections. This election is the same, despite tons of people REALLY hating Hillary, the fact that Trump is so unlike by many will not get the people in the middle out to vote.

Edit: I agree about voting for GJ- those votes are just confusing to me, I have no idea what statement those folks are looking for.

So is carrying this heavy chunk of metal and plastic on my belt for the statistically improbable chance that I'll get assaulted by an armed perpetrator ... but I do it anyway.

+1 You guys did see that there was NO vote in good old CO. There was only the convention that then overrode any disagreement and then the Republican leaders (and only the Republican leaders) voted for that disgrace. We would be much better off with just Pence. So.... vote for another one that is going to bankrupt the country, vote for the one that has no clue about the Constitution or vote for the one that that wants to leave everybody alone cause he has the munchies. The point is you can't tell which is which on two of the three above.

    That would be a Libertarian.
There are not any Libertarians running in this election.

Sorry...but that makes no sense at all. 17 candidates started in the republican party nominating process. The "party" did everything it could to keep Trump from winning the nomination. But it wasn't even close because VOTERS, not the PARTY, chose the candidate. You simply can't put Trump being the "uninspiring garbage" candidate on the party.

Exactly. If/when the campaign of Trump implodes (soon, thanks to the revelation of his "grab their P****" comments from 11 years ago), I will have my fellow R voters to blame. I was against Trump from the start, but once he was determined to be the candidate, I reluctantly got behind him to avoid the Hillary disaster. Now that so many party members, including Chaffitz and Ryan, are turning their backs on the Donald, it's looking more and more likely this train is going off the rails and Hillary will be elected. If that happens, hold on, it's gonna get bumpy.

I honestly see the hardcore Trump supporters as the right's version of Black Lives Matter when they burn down their own neighborhoods. That's exactly what I think when Trump is doing the verbal equivalent of "burn down everything in politics!!!" and it gets folks riled up.
    Hillary is pure evil.
Trump is either a Democrat plant to ensure Hillary wins, or he lost a bet or something.

This is going down as the worst election in over 100 years I'd say.

Johnson may not have every policy correct, but he's the only one I can vote for in good conscience.

I'm voting for him because he supports Liberland, but yeah, he's terrible, Clinton's terrible, Trump's terrible...this year just plain ol' sucks.
