True. I never understood people who said Vick shouldn't be allowed to do anything. He served his time and then was able to go about his life. We don't put stipulations on working except a few cases. People get too butt hurt now a days.

From the 'they still don't get it" department...

Saints: It's 'unfortunate' vet rejects honor over anthem protests

A Navy veteran is taking a stand against those taking a knee.

John Wells, a retired U.S. Navy commander, turned down an offer from the Saints to be honored prior to last Sunday's game against the Bears because he can't "in good conscience" enter an NFL stadium due to the ongoing national anthem protests.

"Although I am touched and honored to be selected for such an award, the ongoing controversy with NFL players' disrespect for the national flag forces me to decline to participate in the presentation," Wells wrote, according to a release, per reports. "I am unable, in good conscience, to enter an NFL stadium while this discourtesy prevails. Since this award is tainted with the dishonorable actions of the NFL and its players, I cannot accept it."

Wells, who is the executive director of Military Veterans Advocacy, was slated to receive the Peoples Health Champion Award, an honor awarded at Saints home games to recognize "the exceptional achievements of Louisiana residents age 65 and older."

Wells described the national anthem protests as "a slap in the face" to military veterans.

"Men and women have fought and died for the flag that the players are disrespecting," Wells wrote.

The Saints called Well's decision "unfortunate and disappointing" in a lengthy statement released Thursday.

Yeah, that's awesome he turned it down and stated quite clearly why. The extra sting in that story is the Saints organization gets the last word with "Unfortunate and disappointing".......fuk you guys. Your fukkin players are unfortunate disappointing.

I turned that shit off and haven't looked back.

It's OK, folks - the NFL has determined the drop in ratings has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with protests or the anthem - it's just "viewer fatigue" - they've offered too much content to too many users too quickly and too cheaply. That's their story and and they're sticking to it. (for now)

Vin Scully: 'I will never watch another NFL game'

Vin Scully said Saturday night that he will “never watch another NFL game” in response to the ongoing demonstrations by some players during the national anthem.

Speaking at “An Evening with Vin Scully” at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Saturday, the longtime Los Angeles Dodgers announcer was asked about the response from owners, players and commissioner Roger Goodell to the demonstrations, which players have used to protest racial injustice and police brutality.

“I have only one personal thought, really. And I am so disappointed,” Scully said, according to multiple videos of the moment posted on social media. “I used to love, during the fall and winter, to watch the NFL on Sunday. And it’s not that I’m some great patriot. I was in the Navy for a year. Didn’t go anywhere. Didn’t do anything. But I have overwhelming respect and admiration for anyone who puts on a uniform and goes to war. So the only thing I can do in my little way is not to preach. I will never watch another NFL game.”
The NFL is running a bunch of commercials trying to stem the tide by stating that they're pro-veteran. Hey, NFL, actions are louder than words. Knock it off. Get political/social justice-y on your own time.

I'm a disabled veteran and I consider it a personal slap in the face.
