Between the general idiotic attitude of the players lately, my general disinterest in football, and the fact that every home game is an automatic 12-hour shift for me, I wouldn't mind if the NFL shut down completely tomorrow.
As one friend so eleoquently put it..."why would I waste 3 hours of my life watching a bunch of millionaires chase a ball around in their underwear?"
Just call me 47
I used to be a devoted fan but haven't had much use for the Nincompoops, Felons, and Losers for a number of years now.
Early morning hours of March 28, 1984. Haven't cared about about the game since. Thanks Bob Irsay! I've enjoyed many decades of Sundays since.
Besides, there are so many other businesses that work hard for my money.
I could care less about the NFL or professional sports for that matter considering there are more important things to follow. I used to enjoy watching monday night football with my dad back in the day, but since the NFL is chalk full of anti-American behaviour and commie libtard sports announcers I wont be watching.

Never really followed football, except for the Broncos - it's kinda fun to cheer for the home team with friends and family. Now with this raised fist / kneeling crap, I just can't stomach it.
Why waste 3-4 hours to watch 15-20 minutes of actual play time by a bunch of thugs on drugs with assitude. Pass.
I am always surprised by the amount of people that chime in on sports threads to tell the world how much they don't follow the particular sport discussed in the topic.
I love football, especially the Broncos and all the sports that Colorado has local teams making national noise. I can not stand it that the NFL lets these players come out and draw attention to themselves during the anthem. You want to exercise some twisted application of your first amendment rights during the anthem, do it in the locker room so the paying customers are not offended. It is up to the NFL and in general, ignoring this kind of thing is good for business but I think in November when all the Pink breast cancer stuff is packed away and the camo stuff comes out, you may see a reaction finally if these bums are still trying to draw attention to themselves during the anthem.
And then there are the posters complaining about the high paid NFL players but then acting like Baseball players are in your tax bracket. NFL players are far less compensated and risk the most in terms of their health. For every Peyton Manning making $20MM a year, there are 20 guys on the roster making less than million.
I can't imagine having enough time on hands to blow 3-4 hours every Sunday sitting on the couch watching a game, plus Monday night and Thursday night. If it's a big Bronco game or the Super Bowl and a bud is having a bunch of dudes over for wings and beer, cool. It's a good reason for the boys to relax and hang out. Otherwise, nah. I got better things to do. I'd rather clean out my quail pens.
Funny though. I played football in high school (started varsity sophomore through senior year TYVM) and used to really like watching the game. It just got old I guess.
The political BS is really as aside for me and turns me off even more. But I wouldn't NOT watch a game just because the asshat running around with a ball is a political moron just like I wouldn't NOT watch a movie with a political moron actor in it (yeah, pretty much every movie). It's just entertainment. Amuse me jester!
How much they make doesn't really bother me. The reality is that we're ALL paid based on whatever field in which we've decided to specialize.
