    Default Hurricane Matthew

Not really much to worry about in these parts, but having family in FL and Coastal GA, as well as having been stationed in the latter, I have a lot of friends and family feeling the effects. HAAF and Ft. Stewart are under mandatory EVAC, and Tybee and St. Simon's island are expected to be completely underwater apparently. Anyone else have family/friends in the area?

Very unfortunate, will be keeping that area in my thoughts/prayers. I was in GA around this time last year, spent some time at St. Simon's as well, I'm hoping for the best for them.

I was just in Charleston a couple of weeks ago. Living at sea level can be unpredictable.

Fascinating to watch the energy in these types of storms.

My brother is down there, central area, haven't heard much from him. I'm guessing no power.

My brother in law just moved from the Boston area down to Raleigh NC ... he'll probably be out of the worst of it.

Hurricanes are one good reason to live in the mountains (then you realize that everything up here seems to be made out of gasoline soaked paper).

My nephew's there and uncle is literally on the beach. Or was. So much for his retirement home.

I'm headed that way on Monday for work. Will probably stage in Alabama and then head into the heavily damaged areas on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Once I find out where exactly I will be, I'd be glad to look up anyone who is within a 2 hour driving range.
