Because at this point he wouldn't even be on the ballots ... all the votes for "Trump-Pence" would be thrown out and we'd be left writing Pence in, which never works.

These conspiracy theories that Trump is a Hillary plant, or he doesn't really want to be president just launch [insert business venture here] make as much sense as Elvis being the shooter on the Grassy Knoll.

He wants to be president, he's invested way too much in his campaign to be just a plant and stands to lose a LOT if he loses (he's burned his bridge to the entertainment world, that's for sure and probably burned his bridge to the NYC power structure, which he needs to continue development in NYC) ... and frankly he would just drop out now if he was just a plant (Mike Pence isn't going to win on his own).

Whether he can win or not, whether he's a good guy or not, none of this means that he's throwing the election on purpose. The idea is just silly.

I'd just like to clarify that I wouldn't be surprised to see him play it off as though he meant to lose if that is what in fact happens come November. I also think he can afford to ride this venture out pretty far in an attempt to stay relevant.

His business will be ruined if he loses. Like I said before, he's burned the bridges with the leftist run entertainment industry (they act like they hate him worse than Bush) and he's burned the bridges with the liberal run NYC government so he's going to have a much harder time developing anything in NYC.

There are a lot of great voices on the right that used to be libs. Bill Whittle, Andrew Breitbart, Evan Sayet, Thomas Sowell, David Horowitz, Milton Friedman, Dennis Prager ... the list goes on. Its entirely possible that he has come around to the conservative way of thinking. Also to say that "he's not an R never will be ab R" ... first that's not true, he's called himself a Republican long before running for office but at this point the R's are pretty screwed up ... I've been registered as an R since 1987 (when I turned 18) and have considered myself one since long before that ... I'm seriously considering dropping my party affiliation as its pretty clear that the GOP is run by Democrats now.

For conservatives that oppose Trump I have two questions for you. 1) Did you vote for McCain and 2) Did you vote for Romney ... because as of today I'd say Trump looks more conservative than both of those losers.

It isn't uncommon for folks to flip flop at all. The differences between the two parties have become almost trivial. Like I said, Jim, I don't have enough info to say one way or the other. Unfortunately neither would surprise me.

Yeah I don't buy the "once a D, always a D" statement. My mother was a D since 82 or thereabouts, and within the last ten years has changed to Republican. Both parties have evolved and don't necessarily represent what they once did.

The bottom line is that Trump is about Trump. The reason he has failed to get ahead of Hillary ( the worst candidate the Democrats have run in my lifetime ) is that he thinks he can manipulate the media but is in fact easily trolled into the Clinton machine media traps.

Trump thinks he is smarter than everyone who has actually run a national campaign, refuses to build any kind of ground game (which is how Obama beat Romney in an election Romney should have won) and continues to self destruct.

Trump will lose in November in the biggest landslide since McGovern's loss. Why is the GOP establishment running in circles? Because Trump's incompetence now threatens the GOP hold on the Senate and House.
