Is 6' 3 really so tall that it allowed this guy to be identified? Does 6' 3 look all that different than 5' 10 on a surveillance camera?

Also, I read both articles from the Chicago Tribune and the Denver Post, and there are at least two entire paragraphs with the exact same wording in each article. Are journalists really that lazy, or is that an accepted practice?
