I travel this road frequently since there's about 12 more lights on the way to Parker. It's 55mph where they're showing and just over the crest of a hill, so it's hard to say if I would've stopped. Not sure how well a CCW works after/during a taser event.

I saw that and live close to that area. I travel that road A LOT. Bad things happen every day but it's always weird when it's close to home. Stay alert out there and always keep your head on a swivel.

When I was younger I used to stop and assist any stranded motorist I'd see, mostly cute girls with flat tires (maybe I just noticed them more). I changed many a tire and never had any problems, but the more I've heard of so many of these incidents that now I just drive on by unless there's another guy in the car with me at the time. It's a damn shame, I'm sure there are plenty of people who will go through undue hardship when their car actually breaks down.

I think it just offers a new view to "damsel in distress" situations. The location is deep in the southern part of Douglas county, so I would've probably done the same before this. There's often a guy hitchhiking on 86 just east of 83 that I'd probably give a ride if I wasn't turning off a short bit later.

I was at one of my rentals in Clear Creek when I noticed a gal in business attire pull off and look at her tires. The display said a tire was low. Had a nail. She had no idea where her spare was, let alone how to change it. A speedbit and a drill make the jack work easy. Plus I had the socket adapter once I broke the lugs free on the ground. Got a nice hug for that.

You have a 50/50 shot of it going along the lines of either the beginning of a porno or the beginning of a horror film....those are pretty decent odds.

Easier to come out ahead if you're always packing...

    In both situations!

Seriously, though when I read these articles I always look for the, "This never happens in Douglas County/Parker/Franktown/Lone Tree comments. Everyone knows Castle Rock is messed up. I can't tell you how many times I was told on a call by a citizen, "Nothing ever happens down here." Except stuff happens down there all the time. And as this state gets dumber it will happen more and more when Denver and Aurora continue to grow, light rail continues to move through Aurora and further north. People in crappy areas know that people in Douglas County have nice things.

I'm not suggesting that criminals in Douglas County came from Arapahoe County first...just point out.
