Moving. Anyone know anything about Las Cruces, NM?

Public range west of town, multiple ranges, pistol pits, long range, etc. Great weather for motorcycles. About 2 weeks out of the year where you can't ride. Summers can get brutal. NMSU usually hosts great concerts, big names and such. Good hiking in the mts. Oryx hunts over at white sands, great waterfowl, quail and small game hunting. Lots of public land around. Lived there for 4 years in the 90s and a few years last decade too. Would do it again. Didn't feel the crime or immigration problem was any worse than most other places in the SW. Now El Paso on the otherhand, that's the crappiest crap hole that ever crapped. Silver city and the Gila wilderness are just and hour and a half away, great hiking and fishing. Go east an hour or so and you've got cloudcroft and Ruidoso. More hiking and fishing. Horseyracing and gambling. Cruces was number 2 on our list for new mexico when me and the wife were looking to leave denver.
