Stupid things you saw on Nextdoor

this one was just posted in my hood, there are a few people that apparently look out the window all day and report dogs, cats, people, anything that wasn't there 15 minutes ago.



Does anyone know why there are about 7 police cars at the townhomes/condos at ..th and .... streets? There are two officers in the parking area looking at a second floor window. I live just down the street and would like to know what's happened. Thanks.

What's the harm of this person asking about police activity near their house?
Its harmless and understandable.
Would you rather have this person go bother an on scene officer while they are trying to do their job?

Yeah, that's why you ask the group before rolling up to an active police situation. If someone already has the info, the officers are free to complete their duty without multiple people asking questions.
If you have a community resource in place and a safety situation arises, why wouldn't you utilize it???

There's nothing wrong with it. I think you missed the context of the post that certain people ask about every single little thing. The question quoted on here was probably one of those people, so it was automatically filed in the dumb category, even though in this case it wasn't.

Ok I can live with that. I suppose historical context would matter. As a stand alone post, I wouldn't have an issue with it.

Not sure I can pull up a history for a particular user on nextdoor, but some post silly things constantly. This, I thought was one. Maybe it's none of their business why they are there.

Some of the replies to the lady wanting to know about the police activity;

"probably a drug bust" and thus that one was flagged and removed.
"RAIDS online will have it but not for a couple of days"

No other updates have been posted. These types of things are why the city of lakewood went to encryption on their radios, all channels, nobody can listen now. No idea what is happening.

I got an invite for it in the mail today and saw some good ones. One lady was complaining about having her house egged because there were 8 broken eggs on the sidewalk. Willing to bet someone had a mishap coming home from the grocery store.

Since some members don't believe in talking to people online, ironically, I'll share some in-person stupid neighbor stuff. The people a few houses down from us are moving. While talking to my next door neighbor, he said they were moving somewhere out in the country and, allegedly, think they are going to make a living selling wild game, and they told their kid (11ish years old) that he could even bring a gun to school where they are moving. I think they might have a MemberBerry addiction.

I've now seen numerous posts from person asking about information on people who Ding Dong Ditch. He even posted still photos from his surveillance camera. The first time I thought how annoying it would be but after several posts I'm thinking maybe he deserved it.

I would have just called 911 or taken her to the ER
