Latest thread on my Nextdoor: Changed colors for different people.

Hi neighbors,
I am planning on addressing Thornton City Council on Tuesday night March7 regarding crime activity in our area and I am asking for either your attendence at the meeting or feedback on your thoughts, experiences,etc.. Do you feel safe in our community? If not, why? And what suggestions do you have? If you feel safe, i would like to know that as well.

Thank you for your attention to this issue, I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Some responses to the thread:
I definitely do not feel safe. I just had a man shot to death in front of my apartment. Ambulances, fire trucks and police cars are here almost every night.
Thanks for being our Voice on this matter. You cant even walk outside with something going wrong now days. This is a sad World and people are dying for no reason. I am looking in to a sercurity system for my house, because of this I know this will not make me safe outside, I also want to start a Neighborhood Watch Program to help everyone in our Neighborhood(s). I work on Tuesday night, so I will not be able to go, but I am here to support this matter in any way I can.
Thinks

Thank you for your response. I agree with you, unfortunately. My daughter and I are terrified to live here. There are a lot of people who have no respect for life. I will try my hardest to be there to voice our concerns.
I'm so sorry for what you are
experiencing . Can Victim Services help you way?
I don't know. It's all very traumatic.

Then, the lady in blue above who is saying how terrified she is posted up this thread a few days later:
Looking for a foreclosure or something my 10 year old daughter and I can buy.

My ex-husband ruined my credit and we live on disability. It was a very abusive relationship. We live in a gang infested community and we are very scared. I do have 35 k for a down payment. My father recently died and left it to me. If anyone has an idea or a home we can buy, please let me know. Thank you.
Now every realtor and loan officer on Nextdoor is jumping in to sell this lady her services.
