Lucas Oil?

Anyone use this stuff in their vehicles? Always see the commercials, etc., and wonder if it's worth it.

Have always been suspicious of any multi-level marketing of any sort.

i know they also have gun stuff, too, that's mentioned here in posts from time to time.

(i bought some Lucas cleaner on close-out from Cabela's. I don't know if it works any better than brakleen)

Their fuel injector cleaner causes the check engine light to come on in my truck. The oil stabilizer I have used in an older jeep and it did help cut down on the oil leak, but it seems like its just a heavy weight oil.

Never used their gun products.

I prefer the BG products line for automotive purposes.

I read my owner's manual and I use the synthetic oil that meets the manufacturer's requirements. I have tried most of the additives at some point on previous vehicles and I have found that the trick shit is just that ... shit. 240,000 miles on the original engine and while it uses oil, it does not smoke and doesn't leak a drop. The transmission, transfer cases and final drives have never been an issue.

If the Lucas product you are looking at meets the requirements of your brand of vehicle, try it and see if it works.

I've found the same. That's why I just oils that meet the specs set by the manufacturer. I have also used Lucas oil grease for non automotive stuff. I can't really say that it does any better than any other grease out there for the same application.

Are you thinking of Amsoil? I'm not sure Lucas is MLM.

I've used their two stroke oil in my KDX dirt bike. It worked pretty well, but I've gone back to something more expensive. (I used a quart of it and had no problems at all.) One of the nice things about it is that it's available locally. If I want to go riding on Sunday and I'm out of two stroke oil, it can be a bit of a challenge to find it. (Lucas is sold at O'Reilly, so problem solved.) The price is reasonable, as well.

I've always used oil that was to the manufacturer's specs and changed oil as recommended. Regardless of brand, if the oil meets the specs, it's fine. IMHO

I ran the Wally World generic oil in a Jeep Grand Cherokee and got 498,000 miles out of it before I traded it in.
