If you read the Balfour declaration Israel was originally supposed to be given Jordan. Instead a rich Sheik (now king)basically bought it with his money and influence from England. So that is the part of Israel that should have all the Palis in it.
    Thanks HBAR!!

Was unable to access YouTube at the time I originally replied to this and just remembered it when watching a video on YouTube. Anyway, I don't understand the idea Jamnanc expressed, that the Church doesn't want the Scrolls released. As far back as at least 1958, Ancient Semitic language expert Fr. Malachi Martin, S.J., published an entire 2-in-1 volume work regarding the scrolls. Further complicating the claim is that the scrolls are not yet translated in their entirety (most are simply fragments), aren't even the property of the Church (can't release what you don't own; Julian Assange isn't Pope), etc.

Dr. Brant Pitre: Building off of the Qumranic community's Holy Meal concept(based on Malachi Ch.1, and the offering of Melchisedech of bread and wine), shows the continuity of the Essene's essential beliefs as found within the Church until the Protestant revolt and subsequent sectarian disbelief in the Real Presence (ever wonder why Satanists never steal some Baptist church's croutons? The demons don't care about bread-as-bread). Additionally, shows the cross-sect Jewish belief in the foretold foundations of the Eucharist per the Temple Bread.

I realize this is essentially 2.5 hours of viewing, but if you have the time it's absolutely fascinating.

The "Palestinians" (yes the same folks who celebrated in the streets on 9/11) can kiss my ass. The Dead Sea Scrolls physically belong to Israel though the writings are for all of humanity. In 1986 I had the opportunity to visit the Qumran Caves. A very humbling experience.

Not saying I agree, but anti-Christian folks have been spouting about it for a long time.

    No. It wasn't.

If you read the Balfour declaration, the British government expressed “sympathy with Jewish Zionist aspirations” and viewed with favour "the establishment in Palestine of a National Home for the Jewish People,". It didn't "give" anyone anything and it wasn't meant to.

Mandatory Trans-Jordan was established to make good on some of the (conflicting) promises the British made during WW1. Specifically, the establishment of an Arab state after the Arab revolt against the Ottoman Empire.

The name "Palestine" has been around for millennia but was formalized in 1923 by the League of Nations as the name for the region.
