Meyers: Computer issues affect Colorado in-person voting
    Lauren Gustus , lgustus@coloradoan.com 3:19 p.m. MST November 8, 2016

A look at the Larimer County vote-counting process. Nick Coltrain

3:10 p.m. update from Coloradoan reporter Alicia Stice: Computer failures have affected in-person voting across the state, Larimer County Clerk Angela Myers said Tuesday afternoon. She expected the computers to be up and running again shortly, and said it would likely be "a momentary situation." This would affect voters who decided to vote in-person, voters who still need to register, and people who needed to vote in-person because they damaged their ballot.

Colorado Secretary of State's office spokeswoman Lynn Bartels tweeted that with one of the system's down, county clerks could not process mail ballots and in-person voters must cast provisional ballots.

Larimer County Clerk Angela Myers also reiterated a prior comment that there have been no outages related to voting, unlike early reports in Boulder County.

    11:10 a.m. update

County Clerk Angela Myers told the Coloradoan on Tuesday morning that there have been "no issues" at polling locations in Larimer County as of mid-morning.

Election Day brought challenges in Boulder County, where the Daily Camera reports a "load balancing" issue caused outages at a few polling centers. As of 10 a.m., computers in Boulder were back up and running.

Meyers said she visited a few polling locations in Larimer County and activity was "brisk."

Sorros needed to recalibrate the machines to vote how he wanted. They are all up and running now with a 100% Clinton accuracy rate.

    Colorado voters encounter issues Tuesday
Nicole Vap, KUSA 12:03 PM. MST November 08, 2016

KUSA - Voters across the county have encountered delays thanks to a connectivity problem with the voting machines, according to the Colorado Secretary of State’s office. 9Wants to Know is checking on problems with voting across the state using the #VerifyVotes hashtag.

“We have had some problems in Boulder County,” Secretary of State Wayne Williams said Tuesday.

“Some are back up and working,” Williams said. Others, he said, will have to cast a provisional ballot.

In Arapahoe County there have been complaints about delays because of a ballot printer that went down temporarily. That printer is back up and running, according to Williams, but there could be delays when poll workers change the paper.

The other problem 9Wants to Know has heard about are signature problems.

A bi-partisan team of judges look at the signature that is on the mail-in ballot and compare it to the signature they have with a voter’s registration. If the team does not agree that it matches, the voter is notified that they need to prove it is correct.

“Most of these problems come with what we call the household swap provision,” Williams said.

That is when a husband and wife vote at the same time, but mix up their envelopes. The bar code on your ballot’s envelope matches your signature in their system. If the signatures do not match then that prompts a notification to the voter.

Williams said he once had to deny his own daughter’s signature because it didn’t match the one on file.

How are they notified and within what time frame do they have to correct it?

Seems like a convenient way to disqualify a lot of mail in ballots.

I think it should be 100% in person with ID. No shenanigans. But I guess criminals can always find a way.

    Much fuckery is about...
Light a fire for a man, and he'll be warm for a day, light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life...

Discussion is an exchange of intelligence. Argument is an exchange of
ignorance. Ever found a liberal that you can have a discussion with?
