They should be arrested and charged for sure. But that means the First Amendment only protects us when there is a competent LEO in our vicinity. That's kind of hard and why a lot of us carry. I think we would agree if you need a 911 call to exercise a right, it's probably not a protected right.
The state in the Masterpiece case took those two guys that the baker didn't know, forced the baker to associate with them, contradict his own conscious/religious belief, and provide an accommodation that was freely available from other bakers in the nearby area (i.e. there was no denial of a public accommodation).
The baker didn't wake up thinking "Nice day today, it's a fine day for oppressing some icky gays by refusing to compromise my faith." Nor did he ask for a safe space.
But none the less, the First Amendment is dead with cases like these. And just because the government intervened in a way you support (this one time) doesn't change that fact.
My Feedback
Credit TFOGGER : Liberals only want things to be "fair and just" if it benefits them.
Credit Zundfolge: The left only supports two "rights"; Buggery and Infanticide.
Credit roberth: List of things Government does best; 1. Steal your money 2. Steal your time 3. Waste the money they stole from you. 4. Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."
THIS is what members of our military(enlisted) have sworn. Note that there is nothing in there (nor the Constitution) about adhering to a given moral code, nor upholding the beliefs of any one religion, nor about sexual preference, "natural law" or any other such nonsense. Why on Earth do people insist on trying to impose their morality on others, and continually attempting to leverage the government into doing the same? As long as it doesn't directly impact my rights, whatever 2 or more consenting adults do with each other is irrelevant.Originally Posted by 10USC SS502

Discussion is an exchange of intelligence. Argument is an exchange of
ignorance. Ever found a liberal that you can have a discussion with?

I remember that vividly.
Here's the 10th Amendment I'll quote for the second time today...
Marriage was delegated to the states. The power to license, dissolve, and administer AND/OR the power to stay out of it and delegate directly to the People (a more Libertarian solution many have proposed [and I think makes a lot of sense personally]). If a state decided that gay marriage was illegal that was not only lawful but upholding that law was mandated by the Constitution. The one I swore to uphold. The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
So twice now people have said "but the oath to the Constitution!" And I have to ask: Which constitution? Cause my copy says gay marriage is still illegal in Colorado and if we want to change that there was a lawful process for doing so. In fact, that was the only way of doing so under the Constitution (Fed and state in this case).
In 1974 the same thing happened with abortion. States had laws prohibiting and there was no amendment to delegate this power to FedGov. But USSC rammed it down everyone's throat as well.
What we have now is not Republicanism and the Constitution is dead. The promotion of social issues as a justification for shredding the law is one reason why this has happened. And we may very well have gotten to the same place on some issues with the Constitution intact.
So some say "the system works" while it's not the system we are promised by law and others say "we had to break the system so it would work." The only consistency is that we get further from the Constitution.

The anti-Trump rally is kicking off at the Capitol building. You're already late if you haven't already headed that way.
These people protesting about Trump should be angry at their media. They were being lied to for so long and they believed it so the reality is hitting them hard.
Republicans had to give Obama a chance, so how about waiting until Trump is even sworn in?

Liberals never met a slippery slope they didn't grease.
