Default UPS manged to screw up BIG TIME

I am awestruck on how this even happened...

I ordered some ammunition from Freedom Munitions and when I went to check the tracking number...I noticed on my invoice, the unit number for my town home didn't make it into the address.
I thought it was going to be a simple fix to just add one letter to the address but neither UPS nor Freedom was able to get it updated when I noticed it. They said I would have to wait until a delivery attempt was made in order to get it fixed. No big deal, I guess...if that's what had to be done.

I checked the tracking again yesterday (11/7) and it said that the address was incomplete, needed the unit number, etc. but showed that the address had been reconciled later in the day and would be delivered the next day.
I checked the tracking again this morning (11/8) and sure enough it said it was out for delivery. I was working from home today so it all worked out anyways. 4:40 rolled around and I still hadn't seen UPS so I checked the tracking number again and it said it had been delivered at around 1:45 and was left on the porch. I searched around and saw nothing. I called the UPS support number with my tracking number and asked what the deal was.

In their reconciliation of the address... they managed to change the address, the unit number, AND the name on the delivery.
They attempted to retrieve that package but they can't find it.
I am just flabbergasted that they dropped the ball that much and made THAT many changes in an attempt to reconcile just a unit number.

I'm not so much upset that my package is missing...just the fact that UPS may have just handed off a couple hundred cartridges to someone that shouldn't have them.

If they changed the name, address, and unit number they should at least know where they left it and should be easier for them to retrieve.

That's what I thought too but they sent a driver back over and the residents of the address it was delivered to say there was no package.
I'm guessing they liked the idea of a free package.

Well since UPS changed the address and chose to drop it on someone else's door they have just accepted responsibility for the loss.

I've never signed for ammo. Always just find the box sitting on the ground in front of the door.

UPS recently messed up my shipping. I emailed the customer service and told them that delivery guy messed up on an important package. The local hub called me right back and will notify the driver and got me an survey on email. that was it.

You'll remember to provide a complete address on future orders, yes?
