Default Not all immigrants are against Trump

I'm not a huge Trump fan, but hey, I'm glad he won. He's what we got and I hope does a great job. He's certainly better than the alternative.

My wife is Lao - a refugee from the communists In the early 70s. Her dad was a wise man and got the family the hell out of there as soon as he could. The stories he has to tell....crazy.

I saw this on her sister's fridge during our visit. We all had a laugh at the broken english, but it was all good natured.

These are people FOB. But they are trying to assimilate, embrace our customs, learn our language, etc. Anyone is welcome at their church.

We came here to Iowa to visit on Friday, just a few days after the election. Of course it was a topic of conversation.

This is what I learned. The older Lao folks are almost 100% happy that Trump won. The teenagers and young kids are almost 100% unhappy that Trump won. I know it's anecdotal.

One of the little girls came home crying and said that her teacher said she might be deported because of Trump. That teacher would have my entire shin up her ass if it was my kid.

Home schooling is becoming a huge goal for me.

    EDIT: Have Happy Thank Skiving!

My wife is an immigrant (now a citizen) and but still watches telemundo and Univision and you wouldn't believe the one sided coverage they present until trump won now things have changed. I wouldn't call it exactly ass kissing but they sure have changed their tune from news to tmz type reporting is now much more trump friendly.

My mother-in-law immigrated here and is a citizen and she loves Trump. She also voted for Obama, then proceeded to talk trash about him all the time though.

My wife had to go through the immigration process when her family came to the US from Canada. The idea of fast tracking illegals really pisses her off. If they want to live here, they should follow the legal process.

This is a pretty good article that was in the Washington Post:

Both of my parents and both of my in-laws are immigrants and voted for Trump. Let's hope for the best!

My co worker is a citizen and his second job is working in a Latino grocery. He is constantly bitching about all the people on assistance selling their food stamps in front of him. Bragging about their falsified 8-10k tax refunds etc.

He was very much against clinton and illegal immigrants

    Yes, awesome.
The hardest part is freeing up one parent for it. The rest is a lot easier than people think. I have been homeschooling for somewhere around ten years and it just gets better and better. Encouragement.

I spent last week in Shanghai on business. The election and results prompted several conversations with native Chinese people who were interested in who I supported. I always acted impartial and inquired who they thought would be the better leader. My informal scientific poll results were 100% of Chinese people were pro-Trump. One contact that had a better command of English (my Chinese language skills are non-existent) explained that because Trump is a businessman, he understands contractual arrangements and will stick to them. It may not be the best deal for China, but it will be predictable and the future can be planned out. With the Hill, it is never clear what she may hide in an agreement or renig on later, totally unpredictable and that is no way to structure a business plan.

We plan to homeschool once our oldest is old enough to start school. My wife is a stay at home mom and teaches harp to her students via Skype. We made a decision before we married that we would homeschool and if that included a lower quality of living, so be it.
