    Default 1911 magazine

What happens when a 1911 magazine goes bad?
Does it smash the last round up against the barrel?

I dont believe there is a set malfunction that occurs with a bad 1911 magaz8ne, or any magazine for that matter. But admittedly I dont have a great deal of time behind the 1911 series of handguns.

I have 4 magazines. 2 of the magazines destroy the last casing when it is ejected and 2 don't
So next question do I buy new magazines or just buy replacement springs?

Compare the feed lips to the good mags.

Take a good and bad magazine apart and compare the springs. Try swapping springs between magazines to narrow down the issue.

Measure the width between the feed lips front to back and compare to a good one.
If the Odds are equal, you're doing it wrong

Swap longer springs into the bad tubes and see if that fixes it.
