But he sure THINKS he's funny.

I did enjoy his performance in There's Something About Mary, but that was the last time I watched a movie that he was in that I cared at all for his performance.

he was good in Dodgeball- but they cast him as a moron that thought way too much of himself... not a difficult role for him..

I don't hate him, I just think there is too much hype over him. As I said in an earlier post, I only enjoyed his performance in There's Something About Mary. I think he's gone downhill from there. While I enjoyed the movies Meet the Parents and Meet the Faulkers, I didn't enjoy Stillers performances in either movie.

Of course, I don't enjoy Owen Wilson (one exception: Behind Enemy Lines), Adam Sandler (okay, his newer, more serious, stuff isnt too bad), and especially not Will Ferrell (he does just plain dumb crap. If I wanted to watch immature slapstick I'd watch the Three Stooges~at least they were funny). ETA: These folks are just adding to the dumbing down of the nation.

I'm not easy to impress by Hollywood types and I think the caliber of actors and movies has gone way down over the last 10 or more years.

Tropic Thunder was funny as shit!

Kirk Lazarus (Robert Downey Jr.) was my favorite.

Well, personally, I'm not a fan of too many Hollywood types, either. And I'm not a big fan of Stiller. He's made me laugh occasionally but he's not a favorite.

I thought the movie was tolerably watchable and had some funny lines. That's all I was commenting on...a good line that was gun related.

I'm more of a Robert Duvall western or "Black Hawk Down" war movie kinda guy.

I did think it was pretty funny when Stiller comes running back over the bridge at the end of the movie with his "son", Half Squat, attached to his back, stabbing him with that little knife. Tom Cruise played a good character in that movie, too.

BTW: After being a Dish Network customer for about 17 years I finally bitched about the crappy, old, obsolete equipment enough that they got tired of listening. They sent a guy out who installed all new HD DVRs throughout the house, upgraded us to HD service and gave us free HBO, Showtime and Cinemax for 6 months...all at no charge. So, I'm catching up on a lot of movies I've never seen and that I'd never pay to go see in a theater.

What the hell is this bullshit all about?

This is the second time I've asked people to explain themselves, and as an answer I get a "You must be a liberal boy," kind of attitude. Thanks for at least explaining yourself.
