7" upper opinions

What are the thoughts on this upper for a truck gun ? I've heard mixed thoughts on the barrel length and reliability

By adding an adjustable gas block, it will be plenty reliable.
I built a 7.5" and the gas block made a world of difference in being able to easily tune it. Has been flawless ever since.
Accuracy on the other hand leaves something to be desired - 4" at 100 yards with military ammo.
I'd also recommend a Noveske flaming pig muzzle device.

Add a LAW folding stock hinge to it and it will fit in any regular backpack. Makes a great truck gun.

I had a 7" and sold it for a 10"

Not quite so loud and the carbine gas system tames the action a bit compared to the pistol system.

Built and shot 11's and 10's but kept the 7.5". Even helped a few tune their 7.5" guns. Once tuned they run fine without an adjustable gas block. They are more finicky on ammo choices. Once you tune a 7.5" they are very reliable with the type of ammo it is tuned to. Mine is tuned to 55 grain standard velocity loads. My buddy's is tuned to 62 grain standard velocity loads. If we switch to 34-45 grain ammo or go heavy to 66-75's we both have reliability problems.

Both of us can reliably hit stationary clay targets at 100 Yards with red dot sites. The blast and muzzle flash is a pro not a con in my book.
