Default Oakland Fire: Anybody else notice this?

Over the weekend 36 people died in a massive fire at a "rave" in Oakland.

    http://www.keyt.com/news/national-wo...limb/197110059

And yet, aside from a couple of stories, this seems to have fallen off the news cycle.

If 36 people had died in a mass shooting, they would have cancelled regular TV programs and we'd still be hearing the stories of the victims. It would have been at the top of every news web page.

On my Yahoo feed, I scrolled down - not one story on the Oakland fire. Doesn't even show up as "trending." I actually had to enter "oakland fire" into the search window in order to find the link above.

    Interesting contrast, don't you think?

Predictable selective outrage. It's a constant.

When the OSU event was thought to be an active shooter situation it was all over the news. Libtards seized on the moment all over social media. When it turned out be vehicle violence and knife violence, the media dropped it.

Also interesting... The state of California wants to regulate cow farts but can't regulate and enforce their own ordinances (local level) that would have prevented this tragedy.

I heard about the fire but I didn't follow it. Sounds like mostly citizens were killed so no story there either, if they'd been illegals then there would be a story.

I've heard about this fire every single day since it happened, including today, on both NPR and my local channel 2 news.

If this same fire had happened in a manufacturing plant, it'd be national news. it happened in an illegal "artists collective" owned by an immigrant, so it's not. Seriously, it sucks that 36 people lost their lives because people are idiots. The only ways out were a makeshift stairway made out of pallets, and 2nd story windows.

It was at a rave being held by homeless druggies and people involved in multiple/alternate partner sex.

The place was a death trap with a combination of clutter, garbage, and severe electrical issues contributing to the fire. The owner will probably be charged in it as the property manager has stated publicly that he has complained for ages about the electrical issues.

And in my news feeds as well. I have read at least 12 original articles on it so far.

If the MSM would follow their plan, they would be calling for banning building inspectors...since they were obviously to blame for the whole mess in the first place.

I've seen a lot about it too. Apparently there were "small" fires in the building all the time that they'd just put out with blankets and stuff.
