My Feedback http://www.ar-15.co/threads/26728-Bad-Dog
I had a slide cerakoted once. I'm pretty easy on my stuff but it seemed like it was going to hold up pretty well. I ran the handgun in three or four IDPA matches and not only did the outside finish look perfect after being used in a kydex holster but I was surprised to see the finish didn't even show any wear on the breach face.
I've read about Durablue, made by Duracoat. No personal experience, spray on and let it dry, it is offered in 3 matte and 3 gloss shades.
You can get it close but even at best it will have the color but not the polish. Things to remember. Cerakote can be applied to a semi gloss. Going outside of the recommendations can get a nice gloss but it also likes a texture to grab on to the surface. Duracote is paint pure and simple. Cerakote can and will show the grain but there is a depth and shine to a good bluing over polish that just will not be there with anything other than bluing. Now a tinted clear cerakote is something I have thought might get close but have not played with it yet. Just some thoughts.
I see you running, tell me what your running from
Nobody's coming, what ya do that was so wrong.
Nothing beats Colt's Royal Bluing..... If I could afford to have them do it.
