Lyft actually seems to be the better of the two services. I think they're a bit more particular about the vehicles and drivers. Uber will get anyone in them right now.

I drive part time for 2 Brothers Transportation. We are required to have a special (limo) license to access the 5th level of the lot at DIA. We have exceptional service. I would take that over any Uber/Lyft/taxi any day.

Lyft always seems to be closer to my pick up location and also tends to be less expensive.

Last Thursday will be a great example. I live near 100th and Wads. At 10;15 a buddy wanted me to come join him at a bar which is on 92nd and wads. I already had consumed enough beverages that I could receive a dwai, so i checked on an uber and a lyft. Lyft was 10min away from my house, Uber 30. Uber was $12, Lyft was 7. Same thing to get back home at 12;45.
Not sure about a mustache on the car. I don't think they had one. Just a small window sticker.

I would have given you a ride both ways for $30, including letting you plug your phone into the stereo on your Pandora channel, and I would have let you drink in my car.
