    Default Book Recommendations

I'm mentoring a young (16) shooter and I'd like to get him a couple of books on the basics of shooting and hunting. Looking for suggestions.

The NRA training materials are really pretty good for the basics of shooting. The CMP also sells US Army Shooting Team training materials -- videos and books. For about $6, the Boy Scout Rifle Merit Badge book goes over a lot of the basics like sight picture, posture, breath control, etc.

Col. Jeff Cooper (Shooting, mindset) and Patrick McManus (hunting, outdoors, humor) are always solid and easy reads.
