    Default Shotgun Professionals (Non Tactical)

I have a Valmet 412S that I purchased approx. 13 years ago. Unfortunately, I don't have the combo barrel set so it's only the 26" 12 gauge. Fixed chokes which I believe are Full/Modified.

I have shot exactly 2 shells through this gun but it's hardly "brand" new. Bores are pristine but there are a couple small nicks on the stocks. Very minor nicks.

Any experts in the Metro area that would be willing to take a look and appraise for sale/buy. It's sits in my safe and that's frustrating.

Pic attached shows the Valmet on the top. I added the bottom gun with 28" bbl for visual reference but it got cut off.

    Thx - Drew

I had a Valmet 412S for a lot of years. I used it extensively for sporting clays. It was an awesome shotgun. Every bit as good as anything from Browning or Beretta in my opinion. Mine was made in Finland. I believe later models were made in Italy. Mine had choke tubes but I don't know if it came that way or someone had them installed.

I bought mine used for $450. Had it and used it for about four or five years and many thousands of rounds and sold it when I decided to switch to a semi auto platform. I sold it for $450.

I don't see these pop up for sale often. I saw one a few years ago in a local shop with a $750 price tag on it and it was there for a very long time so I would guess that price was a little high.

Not sure if any of this helps you. My honest opinion is it is probably a shotgun worth somewhere between $500 and $650.

Thanks Ray. That was the feedback I was looking for.

Mine is also Finnish made but I was thinking some people may not care for it.

I'd hate to turn it into a "boat anchor" though.

    Thx - Drew

The group of guys I used to shoot with had Brownings, Weatherbys, and Berettas. We would occasionally take turns shooting each other's guns. I can tell you my 412 shot just as good as all of their guns. Theirs cost more and were a little prettier but as far as function, feel, and overall shootability, the 412 didn't give up anything to those other guns.

If I had one complaint about my 412 is was the auto safety feature. While it might be a nice feature for a field gun, it was just an inconvenience for me on the sporting clays course.
