I was out in Aurora last night for the countdown, but I heard nothing in the way of fireworks or gunshots.
I don't make the rules. I just think them up and write them down.
Usual silence for us last night.
Could hear the buzz/hum of power line 100yds away.

Guy a block over set off a shit ton of firecrackers and I heard five reports that to me sounded like a 9mm from the other direction. Then all was quiet again and we finished out sparkling wine and went to bed.

I regularly hear gunfire from gang violence in this little California town, which is more conservative than most. I can't imagine living in some of the LA suburbs or on the South side of Chicago.
