Who knew spontaneous tempered glass breakage was a thing. Went outside this morning and all drivers side glass was gone on my FJ. What a mess and I am not the only one as I can't get it fixed until Monday.

High winds carry small debris. Like those pointed escape hammers, if a small object hits your side window, your glass goes.

I remember dozens of cars losing their side windows one windy day at DEC in the mid-to-late 1980s. I snuggled up to the downwind side of a big van that day.

In addition, these high winds can create huge pressure differentials. We had several cases of car windows blowing out due to winds much less severe than we had yesterday when I was stationed at Cheyenne Mountain many many many moons ago.

WTH is it with evergreens? They have no root system whatsover. I saw one down in my neighborhood. It was an old/tall tree and the roots went down about two feet.

After only a few inches of soil it's just clay. Hard to expand, and few nutrients.

That and we just don't get any moisture around here so the roots stay shallow to get what little there is.

It'd be national news if this was in Miami and they'd name the event. There'd be reporters hanging onto light poles to report the news.

I can make a video from on top of a roof if you'd like. It hasn't been all that windy while I've been out though.
