    Default The Saint

Springfield Armory has just announced they are making an AR15 rifle.

I'm personally very excited to get my hands on one. It's about time Springfield.

YOU are the first responder. Police, fire and medical are SECOND responders.
When seconds count, the police are mere minutes away...
Gun registration is gun confiscation in slow motion.

My issue with this is that I have read multiple people online bashing SAI for the handguard failure. Shouldn't it be Bravo company taking the hit for a crappy plastic keymod HG? Don't get me wrong, I love BCM, but looks like they failed on this part.

It's an intriguing option to counter the 6920. Mid length is cool. MSRP is $900ish, right? 1/8 twist barrel so they split the difference. Doesn't seem like a bad rifle if you don't want to deal with building your own or if you want to add a decent factory built rifle to the stable.

Seems kind of "eh" to me overall. Just another mid price point AR, albeit one with an ugly rollmark on the right side of the lower. Not awful, but nothing that really makes it stand out either.

I do like seeing that we've finally started to get away from that m203 cut barrel nonsense.

That and 240 rounds in one course of fire, shot as fast as possible. My plastic Colt handguards would probably see some damage under those conditions.

Its a nice looking carbine. That said, I don't know about the timing of entering the AR market today.

Why get excited? Any Joe with internet access and a basic tool kit can build a better AR for $600 or less.
