Mattis Resigns as Defense Chief, Citing Differences With Trump

Defense Secretary James Mattis' resignation letter

It appears that Mattis had a difference of opinion to Trump pulling out of Syria.

They come and go in all administrations. He was a good one. Interesting to see who's nominated to replace him.

They DO come and go but I am concerned by the number of good people who have been leaving recently. I still think Trump is doing what's needed to unsettle Washington elite but he's getting sandbagged from inside and the personnel issues don't help. Have to say I question his judgment on the Syria thing.

We had no business in Syria other than bombing the shit out of ISIS w/ the Assad regime as an ally. It's globalist insanity to want to take out an Alawite regime (that has a history of crushing Sunni terrorists) by allying with FSA (read: Al Qaeda) in order to create another power vacuum in the Arab world. It obviously worked so well in Libya, Iraq, and Egypt.

Doesn't matter. When the D's oppose you it's one thing. When those that are suppose to be part of the R platform are blocking and obstructing the president, that's, IMO, treason. Don't care what side of the aisle one is on, either they work with or leave.

Die hard R's having had their apple cart upset, want to take their lobbyist cash cow and go home. This administration and congress have become the Roman Senate prior to March 15th. If anyone was actually taught that part of history, one should worry.

It seems Trump could be using the withdrawal to back Turkey off Saudi after the Khashoggi killing.
