    Default Guilty plea

Richard Kirk, the man charged with killing his wife in their home while she was on the phone to 911, after ingesting various amounts of pot in 2014, has plead guilty to one count of 2nd degree murder. Evidently the victim's family was agreeable to the terms, he gets between 25-30 years in prison, 5 years probation upon release and their minor children get adopted by their maternal grandparents. Sad for the kids on many levels.

I'm not taking a stab at you, but I'm curious to know if you wrote this, or quoted this?

Well I wrote it based on info provided to me as well as recalling his defense at the time-all widely reported by the local media. Is that cool?

Oh, to be clear he ingested edibles.

Just curious if it was written by a modern day journalist, because the sentence structure is a bit confusing to me.

Specifically this: the man charged with killing his wife in their home while she was on the phone to 911, after ingesting various amounts of pot in 2014,

Hahaha, a long time ago in a galaxy far far away I was trained to write reports in that style. I also worked for an attorney and he wanted the reports in that manner. I obviously continue in that fashion when relaying factual information.

I meant to clarify that the husband was the one under the influence, apologies for the confusion. I not much of a modern day anything these days, well except a grandpa!

Not possible. Before pot was legalized, it was a "victimless crime". Now that it's legal, how can there be any victims?

Is this going to be a thread where people are going to blame pot for a murder?

EDIT: And take this as evidence of the evils of marijuana, and how pot never should have been legalized?

Hey now, since I started it I can attest that had nothing to do with-hard to make jokes about this but I can appreciate some levity.
