    Default Mag Limit Repeal

Colorado: Senate Committee to Hear Magazine Limit
    Repeal Legislation Next Week

    On Tuesday, January 31, the
Senate State, Veterans, & Military Affairs Committee is scheduled to hear
Senate Bill 7, legislation that seeks to repeal the misguided 2013 law that
limited the amount of ammunition a firearm magazine can hold.
SB 7 would remove this restriction
so that law-abiding Coloradans are not limited in their ability to protect
    themselves and their loved ones.

So what are the stats for gun crimes since this law started? Do they even have anything to point at to show this thing is helping.

I suppose their best ammo is to say that there have been no theater shootings by guys who bought crappy high cap mags that malfunctioned forcing them to resort to a shotgun. At least there is that.

Planned Parenthood murderer in Springs used high (standard) caps brought into the state after the law was passed.

I don't recall seeing a desire to discuss that in local media.

I prefer to call him the Black Friday shooter since he apparently shot in the direction of the VA clinic before he holed up at Planned Parenthood ...

Thank you for reaching out to me about the proposed repeal of the magazine limit. While I understand and appreciate your concerns, I stand by the 2013 law and do not support Senate Bill 7.

My concern is that it was far too easy for James Holmes and others like him to acquire high-capacity magazines and large quantities of ammunition. I know the magazine limit can’t prevent every act of violence by a deranged individual, but I believe it can reduce the probability that future acts of violence could be as calamitous as Aurora or Newtown.

I understand that you may be unhappy with this response, but I hope you appreciate my giving you a straight answer. Please continue to contact me about the issues that matter to you most.

Sometimes people trip and fall down stairs.
Sometimes assholes push people down stairs.
That doesn't mean "stairs are bad" nor does it make someone who pushes someone down the stairs any less of an asshole.

Ask him what scientific study shows that magazine capacity restrictions would have any effect on a mass shooting, and why does he think 15 dead kids are okay?

"You're right. Even one dead kid is too many. We should get rid of them all."
