Took it as a carry on bag on a trip to Florida.

Somehow during the screening process it was flagged for "explosives".

They searched it and swabbed it with something and then they sent me on my way.

Same, funny thing though...I was doing some reloading the night before I left for Whorelando, spent the entire week on the golf course and the pool/hot tub and got flagged on my way back. Boy was I a handful

I flew for a little over 4 years around the World with the same carry on bag. My carry on bag got searched repeatedly before each trip and was never used after my travels because of where I was going; it got put up in a locker. Well, after 4 years of flying with it Dubai discovered a live .22 LR cartridge, although highly corroded, stuck in the webbing. I was detained for a while but they let me go with a warning, luckily. All ammunition, firearms, and knives are illegal there. The arresting officer didn't even know what it was and thought it had been fired already. When I told him it had not been fired he was scared "it would blow up in his hand."
