Default A2 buffer tube out of spec?

Bought an ar-15 completion kit from joe bobs (had great reviews). However on a PSA or spikes lower with an 1/8" thick end plate, it is 2 thread turns away from covering the buffer retention pin. Essentially it looks like I would practically need a stamped end plate to make it work. Am I missing something or did I just get an out of spec buffer tube?

You don't use an endplate on an A2. Buffer tube goes on receiver and stock goes on tube (and compresses retaining spring).
