Good comeback. I guess I'm just not afraid of the black boogieman, or television...

Go ahead and make a "Dear Black People" and see if Netflix picks it up, let alone promotes it. I'm not offended by this but I do get frustrated by double standards.

How come? Many people on here like to comment on how "Blazing Saddles could never be made today! LOLZOMGZ"

This movie probably couldn't have been made when Blazing Sales was either. It's just a sign of current times, and certainly not permanent.

Dear White People... says the character that is bi-racial (the character, not the actress).

Lighten up guys, it's supposed to be a comedy series. Right up to the point that they go off the rails, and turn this into a strictly white-bashing "political" narrative, this has the potential for some clever humor aimed at both sides of the divide.

I have not seen the movie version, but from this trailer, it looks like it could be humorous (the movie version):

Maybe some of us are wound up a little too tight given the current social climate. I'm usually the guy telling folks to lighten up, but I'm personally going through some hardships myself, so yeah...

If it follows the same story/character arc as the movie, buy the end the obnoxious black girl realizes she's as big (if not bigger) a racist as all these white crackers she hates on and condescends to through the production.

I had to do a little background on it myself. At first glance, especially if assumptions are made, it does have the opportunity to get the hackles up. Particularly so, when considering the utoob vid from that wacky "Whyte People" broad in the thread from the other day.
