I also had a knockoff brand Atari my grandmother gave us.
I purchased the original Nintendo and had 2 games - Mario and something with riding motorcycles and shooting stuff (can't remember the name).
I became instantly addicted and stayed up many hours too late, so I gave it to my nephews after about a month.
Haven't owned any video games since - I don't have enough time to enjoy all my other interests as it is.
I do enjoy the occasional game at a friends house, but I'm just there getting regularly killed or stuck somewhere.
Games sure have come a long way.
