It is going to take longer than 4 years to drain the swamp. The real battle is going to be keeping the ship afloat until it can be drydocked and repaired.
Once the economic dividends of a Trump presidency start to come in you're going to see a repeat of 2004 when it comes to a presidential election (a very popular Republican president kick the living crap out of a sacrificial lamb the Dems will run because they don't want to waste one of their good candidates).
So if Hick gets picked by the D's, it'll mean they don't really like him.
The swamp will never be drained ... Trump is a stop gap until (and possible delay of) the collapse/apocalypse.

Rationally, I agree with you, but I still can hope. The shadow government/deep state, whatever you want to call it, it too invested in their power and the true Conservatives are too busy doing life and work and stuff. Today's EO is a good start though.
I do think there is a good chance that the Ds are going to come up with 3 or 4 candidates, one of which will be the real 2024 candidate and use the 2020 as a dry run, and then a few bozos.
