    Default Presidential address

    Surely folks have a comment.

Mine is from before address even started. Couple of talking heads were discussing topics and decided immigration and health care would be the most important and controversial.

One commented "Both issues will require legislation and even though Republicans control both houses it would be a challenge to get anything passed".

Of course it will be a challenge. Legislators put their own interest ahead of that of the constituency, much like some sort of nobility. As long as this is the case no progress toward freedom and individual liberty will be made.

    He is doing well.

He called out islamic terrorism, he called out illegal immigration, he salutes the military and the sacrifices they have made.

The last guy (I have to spit every time I say or write his name so I stopped saying and writing it) couldn't even say the words "islamic terrorism" because he was so busy supporting it.

I really enjoyed how the Dems demonstrated how they're no friend of this country. They're going to lose even more seats in the mid-terms.

I can't begin to tell you how much I hope that is true.

It was really, really strange - not his points, but the presentation.

Of course the same held true for the prior POTUS' addresses and speeches. And the one before that. And... the one before that.

These are rallies. They're meaningless and not much better than what they say on the campaign trail.

Lot's of 'what I'm gonna do' and not a lot of 'how I'm gonna do it'.

On the positive side: Trump sounded a lot more presidential tonight. A little more statesman and a lot less TV and celebrity personality. This bodes well for his efforts.

How so? By sitting and not applauding? Or was there some other indicator I missed?

The sitting and not applauding DEFINITELY isn't anything new, unless we want to look at the Joint Chiefs and The Supremes. They never do the 'sit-stand-clap-dance'. They actually do their jobs and at least PRESENT themselves as unbiased and objective - regardless of who holds office.

Or was it the after address commentary from the Dems that revealed their traitorous desires to you? Like the retired Governor from Kentucky's speech? Again, that sort of thing is nothing new after an address to congress or a state of the union - regardless of who is running the show.

I'm not sure 'friendship to the country' can really be put on trial here. It is just more political BS.

It was excellent in so many ways, a refreshing departure from the Trump we knew, and as Chris Wallace stated: Tonight, Trump became president of United States. Let's hope President Trump is successful.

And as Trump repeatedly reached out across the isle seeking cooperation, the behavior of congressional Democrats showed what anti-American asshats they are.

I understand the demo's not clapping or standing but I find it hard to believe that their response to the homage to Owen's wife and memory brought the same response. Just heard Ken Buck on the radio and said he was amazed that they responded the way they did even for that part.
