Default Truck/Car Mounts for Handguns and/or Rifles

Well I haven't found a thread for truck/car mounts for handguns and/or rifles yet so I thought I'd start one up.

I usually use the "cheap-o" holster that comes with most pistols and mount it up in my center console of the truck,
here is my old set up for a Springfield XD Mod.2 45ACP sub-compact with the stock holster, going to be removing
and installing the holster for my new purchase a Sig Sauer P320 compact 9mm.

Show us what ya got hooked up in your rig!

That looks great! Makes me excited to make mine. I'll post pics when I do.
    Thanks for starting this post!

Good thread. I've been thinking about this, too. I'd really rather do something a little more accessible than the glove box, but more responsible than leaving the weapon lay on the floor behind my heels. I'd prefer something more concealed because I've always believed that not showing everything I've got could work to my advantage in any type of confrontation--in my vehicle or otherwise.

Will be following this thread watching for good ideas.

I need a good solution for my Silverado. Had a good one in my last truck, but that involved drilling holes and riveting a Fobus paddle holster to the bottom of the dash under the steering column. Ain't gonna do that to my sweet new truck. Don't have a console like in the OP.

Have you looked at the Gum Creek mount? uses clips to mount under the steering wheel. No drilling needed.

If I am driving a long distance and want to take the gun out of my holster (4:30ish position), I just slide it between the seat and center console directly in front of my seat belt buckle... it points down and rearward slightly and is quite snug and accessible, but it certainly doesn't "live" there...

I have a kydex trigger guard slipover thing a buddy made, which I stick on the pistol while on long hauls.

It takes maybe, what... 1-2 seconds to grab that thing off of the pistol? Probably more effective than unholstering from my carry position. I wouldn't mind a vehicle holster for while-driving, but I'd never leave the firearm in the vehicle when not there.

Plus I can see for a vehicle mounted holster: accident = retention vs sticking in cushions.

Here's the setup I use in my work truck, cheapo belt clip IWB holster, a bucks worth of hardware and about 3 1/2 inches of an old belt.
    Works for me.
