Default PSA: Finally Found Something I Like Better About CO Over ID

Dry air. I've never had to worry about rust on a gun. I kept my gun safe/guns in an unheated shop in Bailey. Since we moved here, the safe has been in the garage, mostly because I've had no way to get it into the house. It's a heavy one...about 1100 pounds empty. And, it's very damp here in the winter.

I haven't opened the safe in a while but did today. I found a very fine film of rust on a few guns...almost like rust powder. There's no damage, no pitting and it wiped right off. But now I need to go thru everything and take grips off, swab barrels, etc... What a PITA. And, I knew it was a possibility. I just didn't pay as much attention to the issue as I should've. In this case the rust is a "stupid tax". I wiped everything down last fall and did again today. Guess I'll be doing a more thorough job this weekend. I also threw some desiccant packs in the safe.

Waiting on calls back from moving companies.

No, he's trying to come up with reasons for us to stay in Colorado. He's trying to keep Idaho to himself.

A GoldenRod Dehumidifier will go a long way for you!

My wife's grandfather used one and never had any rust in OH or OK.

Saw this ad today and thought of this post. Not sure how good it does or doesn't work, but it's not pricey.
