Every topic on Bicyclists we've ever had has eventually dissolved into this petty argument.

Yes, cyclists get to use the road.
Yes, some of them are jerks and don't "share" the road.
Yes, some drivers are jerks and don't "share" the road.

    Sensitive topic apparently.

Addendum: Why do I, a dual sport motorcycle owner, have to pay for a separate OHV sticker/permit when I can drive in my SUV on the same trail w/o the sticker? Both are tagged for road use. Why is it someone can ride a bike from their house to a trail and back, but pays nothing extra for road or trail? There's a disparity.

    ^^ this

People who operate bicycles on the roads should be licensed, insured, ticketed for traffic violations, and have a bicycle endorsement on the operators driver's license the same as a motorcycle endorsement. In order to "share" the road, they need to be held to the same standards.

No, it's an ancillary example of the disparity. Who took your seat pan?

For what it's worth, I much prefer a bike path to riding anywhere near traffic.

Which is where all bikes should be ridden - and should be paid for entirely by bike riders.

Which amendment is it that protects the God given right to ride a bicycle in traffic?
Relating the two arguments in any way is simply ridiculous.
