I last was there maybe 3-4 years ago with my kids and it was out of control. We had rounds impacting in our firing line area. Never went back. I would not want to live in the area and would not blame anyone for wanting it shut down.

I took a girlfriend and her family out there in 2013. We went out on a weekday thinking it would be quiet, only 5 or 6 other vehicles out there at that time. Driving to where we could shoot was probably the worst as people were shooting everywhere, trash all over, never went back. Shocked the place is still open and the Forest Service hasn't closed it.

My last trip out there is what made me join a private range. Well worth it.

I grew up shooting out there and still frequent it. My in-laws live downrange from the main "berm". It's hard for me to say this, because I think we are losing too much public shooting land, but the place is out of control. Perhaps it should be closed to shooting during high fire danger times.

Last time I was there we were getting ready to shoot when a truck backed half way up the side of the mountain and set up steel. He was directly behind my target so we held fire. The people to our right weren't so kind. I know they could see the poor dumb sob that high up. I need to join CRC soon!

No wonder it's a fire danger: all the water falls up, away from the fire.

My last trip out there a few years ago is what finally convinced me to join BLGC. I still don't like to see this as it reflects poorly on shooting.
