    I agree.

I hate to see reductions in public shooting land too, primarily because I hate to give anything to the leftist anti-gunners, but if irresponsible people are endangering responsible people ...

To be honest, the gun community like any other community (except maybe the Occupy Movement) is diverse and has a wide variety of people so it has never been FULL of upstanding citizens. I've seen plenty of irresponsible shooters (or at least the by-products of their actions like shot-up road signs) over the years. Most gun owners are responsible but there have always been a number of irresponsible Joe Six-Packs (literally ... I didn't know many guys who went pig hunting when I was growing up in Hawaii but those that I did know would be sure to take along plenty of beer and I'm reasonably certain they mixed their drinking and shooting).

This. Modern society has encouraged tons of people to think only of themselves (which is rather ironic given the collectivist bent of so much modern politics).

The other bad part of shutting down public shooting areas is that it just moves people to a new area to trash.

And we know for 100% certain that it was target shooters that caused the fires? And not antis or treehuggers trying to get the range shut down? I have a friend with a cabin about half way between Woodland Park and the range and I wouldn't put it past his commie fiance to go up there and set fires herself because she bitches about the shooters ruining "her" peace and quiet up there (because like most libtards, the world exists only for HER pleasure).

I was shooting at Lead Valley a couple of months ago and a fire started on the back side of the berm next to me. Luckily the guys that run the range got a handle on it before it got out of hand. Not sure how it started. Especially on the back of the berm. Nobody was shooting any tracer or dragon's breath. Couple of people were shooting steel. Bullets do weird stuff. Of course sometimes people do weird stuff as well.

Last time I was at an unmonitored range a kid put a little bottle of tanerite in a pumpkin and bounced pumpkin shrapnel off everyone's cars and trucks. Dented a couple.

People talk about this on here every now and then, but has this ever been the case?
