Default Rear View Mirror - What sort of Voodoo Magic holds them on?

My rear view mirror fell off last week and since I have tried the following:
    1. 3M Stick Mount from the Auto Store
    2. 3M Heavy Duty Mounting Tape
    3. Heavy Duty Glue from Auto Store
    4. 3M Stick Mount (2nd one) from Auto Store
    5. Super Glue
    6. 2 Part Epoxy - Gorilla Products

Nothing held my mirror up, WTF am I doing and/or what kind of wizard voodoo magic occurs when you have your windshield replaced?

Take it by a safelite. They'll stick it back on for you.
Those homebrew kits dont work for shit.

Safelite charged me just a few bucks do do it once, and several times for free. It was the one right at 120th/York (ish)

If it helps, don't glue the mirror back on. Glue the little metal mount and let that set up for a bit. One drop of the special "rear view mirror" adhesive is almost too much. Also, clean the windshield and the little mount button with a razor blade and then some isopropyl alcohol before regluing it.

I've done probably a hundred of them and have had excellent results.

If you would put on your mascara at home you don't need the rear view mirror.....
