    Default Canton, TX tornados

On Saturday afternoon, Canton area was hit by 6 tornados, ranging from an EF0 to an EF4.

The EF4 passed less than a 1/4 mile from my house, flattening one house, and doing irreparable damage to one across the street. Another neighbor lost 5 agricultural buildings, but only shingles off his roof.

My house was spared, only some shingles lost on a guest house- it already had roof damage.

The amount of donations and volunteers is really a testament to how much people care for one another here.

I was in Colorado when they hit, getting things out of a building after closing on the sale of our house in Penrose.
We wound up leaving 2 trailers and a truck as we got here as quick as we could... my mother-in-law, 16 year old daughter and 10 year old son were here when the tornados hit. We feel very blessed that it missed them after seeing the devastation.

That picture is from the roof of our guest house.
I have more pictures, but they are failing to upload from my phone...

Thankfully your family is alright. Houses can be rebuilt a family member seriously injured or lost, not that easy.

Scary! Glad your family is ok and your house was spared. Tornadoes are intense.

Glad the family is alright. Since moving can be hard on kids, are you taking extra flak from them after this?

Glad everyone is safe, only takes a few moments to cause a great deal of destruction.

No, they still prefer it here- and we did warn them ahead we would be on the edge of tornado alley... and a few years ago, Penrose had a tornado touch down, too..
As long as I get the shelter set up like I promised (now that we closed on the sale of our house in Penrose, funding is not an issue), then the threat is mitigated.

Here are more photos, now that I have power and internet to get the laptop online...

Glad to hear you guys are OK. Tornados are not something that I miss in TX.
