Here, too. Just because you fail to draw your preferred tag is no excuse to stay home. The beauty of Colorado's OTC elk licenses is that you can always go hunting for big game. I wouldn't think of not going hunting. Haven't missed a season in 34 years, and there are very few of those years I didn't bring home the meat. You can't win if you don't play.

I know nothing is 100% but the area we hunted last year was our 2nd choice. Only 9 applied (we were 3 of them) out of 30 available. We gambled and we lost. Bummed but won't keep us out of the woods.

Well, still 490 deer.

Question:

I purchased my small game license at the same time and had chosen to pick up licenses instead of having them mailed due to being in the middle of the house buying process.

I'm assuming I can go to say... Walmart, and pick up my small game license?

Results are posting now. Everything but elk and deer posted.

Deer and elk are now official, and it still sucks

Well the 5xx deal is BS.

No deer tag which jives with the backdoor thing but doesn't make sense based on the statistics they put out.
But it showed me a 5xx for elk, now in the final draw results posted it shows I was successful...but only for leftover draw letter.
But deer shows unsuccessful with a leftover draw letter.

And my points now show 1 for deer since I was unsuccessful, but 0 for elk even though I didn't draw my first choice. So I'm missing my elk point. Looks like a glitch in the system I'll have to probably call about.
