    The Centurylink modems are junk as well. I picked up my own and it's way more reliable. But, I had problems with their service once and had to call and talk to somebody. When the lady found out that I wasn't using "their" modem she immediately wanted to blame my equipment without even attempting to troubleshoot.

    This will happen with Comcast, but I only ever had to call when I got my modem, and then once when I found out someone had cut a fiber line feeding most of Northern CO. Never had to have them "troubleshoot" anything.
