Mayfield is an ass-clown... I wonder what its like to be so terrified of the world around him. I just don't understand this pervasive victim mentality which so many people in this country seem to be possessed by. If anything, I hope the recent rush on guns and ammunition will serve as a wake up call to our government that WE THE PEOPLE, will only take so much. As for the issue of race, its a non-issue. If we had a white president who was as venomously anti gun as Obama, the reaction would be exactly the same.

Actually, the reaction was the same. In the clinton era, during the time period the Brady Act was being discussed and written, ammo, primers, SKSs, AKs, ARs, high cap mags, and many other guns and accessories VANISHED. If I remember correctly, Billy was a white guy. The only correlation that I can see is a Democrat president who resoundly supports butt-raping the second amendment like a life term convict. The color of the the rapist's skin is coincidental.

This is a horrible article and his stance is completely unsupported by any actual facts. To make it even worse his conclusion has no relation to his causes. It's erroneous cause and effect. This paper must be really hurting and cannot afford better, more expensive, journalists.

Yeah, I agree SAFriday. Is your avatar Thor's hammer BTW? I remember buying as much ammo as I could get my hands on when slick Willie got elected. Mr. Mayfield is a prime example of how anti gun laws get passed to begin with. People who have an irrational and often paralyzing fear of the world around them have an emotional reaction to an event and then base thier decisions and, frequently, thier votes on that emotional reaction.`
