A Classic Theory.

One night at Cheers, Cliff Clavin explained the" Buffalo Theory" to his buddy Norm:
"Well, ya see, Norm, it's like this. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members! In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine! That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers."

That's an interesting theory. In lotsa years on the street I saw many people who subscribed to it! Guess that's why the jails are filled with smart people!

Well,, Back in the day, working at the TMC at Garlstadt. We had a call one night, I'm fairly sure His whole herd was decimated.. The story I got when I arrived was that He had fallen out of the second story window, not once, but twice.. The PA. told us to take him straight to B-Haven. Now I really have no clue as to how He was still concious, much less sitting in the same window. But, He wanted to fight us and told us that he wasn't going.

I tried to enlighten him to the fact that He had no choice.. He wasn't having any of that reasoning.. Finaly I got fed up with him, and asked the MP that was there, Young PFC, That if He gave us any guff, in a loud enough voice for the drunk to hear, to shoot him, We could use the GSW practice anyway.

That seemed to mellow the drunk out a little, and We got him to B-Haven without further incident..
