Default So my Nodak Spud Retro parts arrived (almost like waiting on NFA goodies but worth it)

    Anyone here do retro builds?

So my Nodak Spud parts finally shipped (Ordered July 24th and received May 10th) so 10 month wait. It was like waiting on NFA goodies. I ordered two lowers two uppers and two charging handles because I wasn't sure how well the lowers would match my existing uppers.

Anyways I will now need pointed in the correct direction for A1 appropriate parts for the lower and a couple of bolt groups. Probably will need a second full birdcage for one of the uppers.

The two completed uppers are New old stock barrels on uppers I bought at a gun show. The color match is pretty dam close (Ordered the XM Gray anodizing) The "texture" for lack of a better word of the metal is slightly different probably owing to the different age of the parts and the fact there is little to no oil on them yet.

Almost ready to join the cool kids group with one last push across the finish line. So any guidance or otherwise beneficial suggestions as too where to chase down the remaining parts would be appreciated.

Been wanting to do a retro build myself. Time and money are my biggest enemies.

Nice looking starts; can't wait to see them fully assembled.

Nice. Retro builds are fun and these days, expensive. Apex Gun Parts tends to have some of the correct lower parts. I know they have A1 grips that are in good shape. Pretty sure they have m16 selectors too. A1 sight assemblies for your stripped uppers can be found on gunbroker. Good luck with the a1 port doors. Pricey when found. Check out US Collectors Ordnance for buttstocks and proper slings. Real retro colt bolt groups are expensive. Apex has them if you are willing to pay. For the price I'd just put in a quality modern BCG.
