    Default Handguard upgrade...

Was thinking of upgrading my 7in carbine handguard to a 10 to 12 in quad guard. I will have to get a low-pro gas block, just wondering what rails you guys suggest, i would like a one piece, but they are pretty expensive. Can u have a 2 piece and not need a handguard retainer???? Any info or suggestions???? My rifle currently has a samson c-star on it, it is a Stag Model 2TL. Thanks....

I'm just curious why your changing handguards ? I have the same Stag2TL with the Samson and always thought it was a great set-up. Like I say just curious.

I am getting rid of the front sight post, and adding a longer handguard. Want to lengthen the distance between the iron sights, plus installing MBUS. Why you wanna buy the quad guard from me????

No thanks but thanks for the offer-Okay I see why now-I kept the post and rear flip up to co-witness with my Eotech. Great gun though anyway your preferences go.

I had the Troy 9" MRF over a low profile gas block. I liked the set up a lot, but it was a little heavy. I don't have the upper anymore and run plastic hand guards on my current upper, due to an over-reaction to the weight. To be fair I also used to have a heavy barrel. All in all I liked it a lot, it was solid, their customer service was great and it did all I asked of it. May also consider a DD rail, my shooting friend has one of those that I have spent a while using and I have been a big fan of it and its weight was better.

LaRue - First and foremost... great company, best damn AR accessories in the world. PERIOD.

Daniel Defense and Troy - Damn close to LaRue and very worthy additions to any AR. I'm a huge fan of the DD Lite series.

In short you cannot go wrong with any of those 3

I just picked up a midwest industries new T series free float (in FDE), and I dig it. Can't beat it for the price if you ask me.

    Daniel Defense Lite Rail 12.0

But here's a neutral comparison to a lot of good rail systems:
